Situated at 13 Bund (13 No.1 East Zhongshan Road), Shanghai Custom House was constructed in 1927 and originally named as Jiang Hai Custom House. It is a composite of classic and renaissance styles that bring it a splendid and imposing manner. The gateway is propped up with four huge Roman granite columns and the top is lofty with the upright bell-tower that serves as the vertical axis of the building. The bell, imitated the one of American Capital, is considered as the biggest one in Asia.
