  • The ashes of the great leader Comrade Deng Xiaoping were scattered over the sea on March 2 in accordance with the wishes of Deng and his family.

  • '97 Shanghai Excellent Children's Plays Show starts in March. This 2-month event includes about 12 famous plays for children. The opening ceremony will be held on March 7.

  • Shanghai Customs handled imports and exports worth US$52.9 billion last year, ranking first in the country, the Chinese General Customs Office recently announced.
