  • '96 Shanghai Music and Dance Performance Month will start on December 1. About 17 troupes will organize all kinds of performances.
  • The trade ties between Canada and the Yangtze River Delta area will be further strengthened as Canada's Prime Minister and two cabinet ministers lead a delegation of more than 250 senior Canadian business executives to study business opportunities for Canadian investors in the area around Shanghai on November 24.

  • Swedish Prime Minister Goran Persson pays a two-day visit to Shanghai starting from November 6. During his brief visit, efforts are made in the strengthening of bilateral ties and cooperation in investment, trade and scientific research.
