International High-Tech Park for China's Textile Industry
International Hi-Tech Park for China's Textile Industry (IHPCT) is China's first hi-tech park designated for a special industry. It is being developed by China Textile Industry Federation and listed as one of Shanghai's hi-tech parks. It enjoys preferential treatment given to hi-tech parks and Pudong New Area in various aspects including those regarding land development projects.
IHPCT is situated in Qingpu County, known as the rear garden of Shanghai. Transportation is convenient. It is 21 kilometres west of Hongqiao Airport and 9 kilometres east of the natural resort of Dingshan Lake. Road transportation to the north or south can be achieved through the super-highways connecting it to Hangzhou of Zhejiang Province and Nanjing of Jiangsu Province. The suburban belt way which is under construction links No.318 National Highway. Since the Dingpu River is linked with the Huangpu River, inland river transportation is also very convenient.
IHPCT is planned to have an area of 213.3 hectares for the
first phase development, with a land of 150 hectares in the
north and east part serving as a reserve, consisting of:
1. Hi-Tech Industrial Park
2. Economic and Cultural Administration Area
3. Residential Service Area
Backed by the County of Qingpu, IHPCT has a strong support of infrastructure. It has a 220 kv transformer substation with a capacity of 240,000 KVA, two 75 KV transformer substations which can supply power to IHPCT directly, a telecommunications substation with 1,000 IDD lines, a capacity of gas supply of 100,000 cubic metres a day, a water plant with a supply capacity of 60,000 tons of water a day and a second plant which is under construction. The trunk roads in the park such as the Pacific Road, Atlantic Road and Nanhai Road have been completed.
