Located at 9 Dongping Road, the former residence of Chiang Kai-shek was brought by Song Ziwen for Song Meiling when she was married to Chiang Kai-shek in December 1927 and it is now the site of the high school affiliated to Shanghai Conservatory of Music. The building named "Ai Lu" is the "Xing Gong" (Xing Gong means the imperial palace for short stay away from the capital) of Chiang Kai-shek who came into power in Nanjing and visited Shanghai in 1927. It is a garden villa of British style with a dormer on the top and the porch, doors, windows and corners are decorated with concreted quoins.
