Located at 16 Lane 303, Huashan Road, the former residence of Cai Yuanpei is a three-storey garden building painted faint yellow under western style with a site area of 2.22 mus and a floor area of 526 square meters. The living room sees the articles used by Mr. Cai which are displayed according to the original ways. On the north wall hangs a large painting of Mr.Cai when he was middle-aged. The south wall is decorated by an oil painting made by Liu Haisu on the left and an oil painting of Mr.Cai made by his wife Zhoujun on the right. On the west wall is the picture of Mr. Cai and other teachers and students taken in1936 and on the east wall is a photo taken in 1935 when Mr. Cai was planting. In the middle of the walkway on the second floor is a half-length bronze statue of Cai Yuanpei who was a great democratic revolutionist and educationist and lived here in 1937.
