Situated at 3 Bund (4 No.1 East Zhongshan Road), the construction was built in 1916 as the Union Insurance Co. Building. It was reconstructed in 1922 into the first building of steel structure in Shanghai. The elegant seven-storey building is of the post-renaissance architecture with the exterior design featuring the Baroque style. House of Three, a Hong Kong company, claims the ownership and the management of " No.3 The Bund", a project that has made the building into one of the most extravagant places in Shanghai. The first floor is The Chinese flagship of Giorgio Armani and Women's Three while Three Fashion Store occupies the second floor. The third floor sees Evian SPA, Barbers by Three and Shanghai Gallery of Arts while the fourth holds Jean Georges. Whampoa Club and Laris are situated on the fifth and the sixth floor respectively. The seventh floor hosts New Heights and Three Degree and the tower once topped the whole building has been made into a unique romantic restaurant-the Cupola.
