Built in 1913-1916, Asiatic Petroleum Building is standing at 1 the Bund (1 No.1 East Zhongshan Road), and it is also the site of the headquarter of China Pacific Insurance Company. It is an eclectic construction and the façade is divided into three parts horizontally and vertically with the first and third parts approached under Baroque style and the middle in the modern way. The Roman arched gate and the Baroque pillars enhance the beauty of the building and it is acknowledged as the No. 1 Building on the Bund.
